Remembrance Day 2024

Honouring the Brave and the Fallen

Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day or Poppy Day, is a solemn occasion observed on the 11th of November each year to honour the sacrifices made by military personnel during times of war, particularly World War I and World War II. This day marks the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at 11 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, which effectively ended the hostilities on the Western Front, bringing World War I to a close.

Considering that the Commemoration Service this year occurred on a Monday of a working week the service in Collie was well patronised with over a hundred attendees.
