Collie RSL Dining Out Night

Collie Cardiff RSL Dining Out Night was held at the Club Hotel on 16th March to recognise and thank Gary Benton and Grahame Old for over twenty years of service and dedication to our Collie Cardiff RSL.

Entering via the red carpet flanked by students from Collie Senior High School was a unique and grand way to start the evening.

Being a formal event the Ladies glammed up, and some of the reprobates from Club were almost unrecognisable in suits and black tie.

After pre-dinner drinks in Legends Bar, we moved into the spectacularly set up dining area for entree and our main course. After mains - our guest speakers Mick Murray and Miquela Riley provided “tall tales and true” attesting to the character of Gary and Grahame.

Our President missed his calling – he should have been a MC. Under his guidance the night ran like clockwork, and his words were greatly appreciated by Gary and Grahame, our Guest Speakers, the RSL Members who assisted preparing for the evening, the Staff of the Club Hotel (who made us all welcome), and all the RSL Members and Partners who attended.

The Kangaroo Court run by Peter Tyler and Bill Goltz resulted in many an innocent party fined without pity – but all to a good cause – the 2026 Anzac Tour.

Many thanks to Kevin Dyer, Jim Elliot, Rover, Jo Simpson, and Rod Cordery for providing their time and support to get the night organised.

A great evening was had by all.
